Charli XCX Shares Cardi B's Embarrassing Nickname For Her
Ahead of her long-awaited return to "Saturday Night Live," Charli XCX stopped by "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" on Friday night to humor us with a story about how Cardi B once mistook her for someone else on social media. Apparently, the embarrassing mixup happened in 2018 as the Grammy-winning rapper teased their "Girls" collaboration with Rita Ora and Bebe Rexha via Twitter. "It was one of those scenarios where we never actually met when we made the song," the "Boom Clap" singer explained to Fallon, adding that they shot the music video separately. "And then she tweets the song and I'm like, 'Oh my God, Cardi B tweeted my name, this is huge! Then I checked the tag, and instead of Charli XCX, [she tagged] 'Charli STD.'" Almost at a loss for words, Fallon joked, "Close enough!" It's a good thing, though, that Charli doesn't take herself too seriously. "You know, I felt honored, actually," she said. "If anyone is gonna make this kind of online error, it's got to be Cardi, because it's iconic. And I'm almost happy it happened." She concluded that Cardi B "can call me 'Charli STD' whenever she wants." Watch the funny clip above! Related: There's an Astrological Reason For Charli XCX's Rule-Breaker Vibe
