Fran Drescher, 67, Reveals She Has a 'Rotation' of Friends With Benefits

Fran Drescher is enjoying life these days!

Drescher, 67, told Page Six in an interview published on Saturday, March 29, that she has “a little rotation” of “friends with benefits” who keep her company. When the outlet seemed surprised, she added, “I’m Fran Drescher! What do you think?!”

Drescher went on to explain that part of the reason why she maintains uncommitted romantic relationships is that she and her ex-husband Peter Jacobson are still “very close.” The pair met when Drescher was 15 and married in 1978. They stayed together until their separation in 1996. They finalized their divorce three years later and Jacobson eventually came out as gay.

This isn’t the first time Drescher has revealed that she maintains a “friends with benefits” relationship. In 2020, she told Page Six the same, adding that, at the time, she saw one person twice a month.

The actress also revealed to the outlet that the Broadway musical adaptation of her hit series The Nanny has been paused. “We’re going to resurrect it but between the [actors’] strike, my dad passing away [in 2024] and now the Palisades fires, which impacted my house… there’s only so much I can do,” she explained.

Drescher added that it’s important to be in the right frame of mind to begin the necessary work on the project, and she’s not quite there right now.

“I don’t try to hide it,” she continued. “I’m very gentle with myself. I share what I’m going through and I keep it very small with people that I feel very safe with and over time it gets better.”

In February, Drescher celebrated singer Sabrina Carpenter after she channeled Drescher’s character from The Nanny ahead of an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. After she was asked if she had seen photos of Carpenter, who wore a Susan by Night for Lilie Robin mini dress adorned with leopard print lapels, Drescher said, “Of course I’m aware of it!”

She continued, “I’m very honored and flattered,” noting that she is a fan of Carpenter and her music.

“I think it’s great for the brand. It says a lot about her. I think she’s totally cool,” Drescher added. “She’s very retro in many ways, and the fact that she’s picked up on The Nanny, and The Nanny’s style is kudos to her. I’m extremely flattered.”

Drescher had previously worn the outfit on the first season of The Nanny.

Carpenter was also inspired by Drescher for her 2025 Grammys outfit, when she wore a sparkling blue-and-white striped 1997 Hervé Léger gown, which Fran wore on season 3 of the show. After Carpenter heard Drescher praising her Nanny-inspired looks, she shared the clip via her Instagram Story on February 25. “I adore you,” she captioned the post, tagging Drescher’s account. “????????.”
