Jennifer Garner Says "13 Going on 30" Is One of the "Happiest Things" in Her Life
Nearly 20 years later, Jennifer Garner still loves "13 Going on 30" - and her costar Judy Greer. Garner reflects on the movie's legacy while talking to POPSUGAR, and she even has a theory about why the 2004 film somehow seems even more popular today than when it was first released. "Something has happened where all the kids who were 13 are now 30," Garner says. "All you guys have put the movie back in the zeitgeist, and it's so sweet to us." Perhaps one of the biggest zeitgeist moments for the movie - in which Garner's Jenna Rink goes from a 13-year-old in the '80s to a 30-year-old in the 2000s - was when Ariana Grande referenced it in her "Thank U, Next" music video. In the years since 2004, Jenna and her iconic Y2K cocktail dress have become a very popular Halloween costume. Plus, there's perhaps no more popular 30th birthday Instagram caption than "30, flirty, and thriving." "I just had dinner with Judy Greer a week ago and we were talking about it, that it's grown in the past few years," Garner spills. Greer played Jenna's enemy-turned-bestie-turned-enemy Lucy in the film, but in real life, she and Garner are good friends. "When people saw us out together, they really have a reaction," Garner adds. "It's one of the happiest things in our lives to be part of that movie together." Garner also speaks about her role in Apple TV+'s "The Last Thing He Told Me," which premiered on April 14. In the series, the actor, 51, plays Hannah, whose husband, Owen (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau), goes missing, leaving her to find him with her stepdaughter, Bailey (Angourie Rice). The mystery series gave Garner the chance to reunite with her "Alias" costar Victor Garber. Watch the rest of Garner and her costars' chat with POPSUGAR in the video above! "The Last Thing He Told Me" releases new episodes on Fridays on Apple TV+.
