Julia Fox Defends Taylor Swift Against NFL Fans After Chiefs' Game Losses

Julia Fox made it clear she won’t be tolerating any sports superstitions taking aim at “women” — and she’s definitely not letting Taylor Swift take the blame for the Kansas City Chiefs 1-2 record so far this year.
In a fiery new interview with Pedestrian.TV to promote her new psychological thriller Him — set in the high-stakes world of professional football — Fox, 35, took aim at those who blame WAGS (wives and girlfriends) of athletes when things go wrong on the field or on the court.
“Like, if a guy loses a game it’s a girl’s ‘fault,’ it’s, like, his girlfriend’s ‘fault.’ It’s just crazy. And all the superstitions and all the irrational ass s*** that these men believe, you know, that ultimately leads to a woman being blamed,” Fox explained to the outlet on Thursday, September 25.
“I remember Travis Kelce lost a game, and then people were saying that it was Taylor Swift’s fault. It was just like, ‘What? That’s crazy!’ But, you know, blame women — they love to do that.”
“It’s like, oh, I didn’t know we were so powerful,” Fox said, adding, “So you’re admitting that we are powerful? So you’re admitting it?”
The Uncut Gems actress noted that ladies in relationships with sports stars have to deal with a lot of public scrutiny and develop thick skin due to being thrust in the limelight.
“Eventually you do find yourself reading the gossip or whatever, the tabloids. It kinda piques your curiosity,” she noted. “The stakes are so high and the pressure is so much.”
“It seems like such an intense world. … It’s definitely not for me,” Fox continued. “I definitely have a newfound respect for people in that world, especially the women.”
Taylor Swift Appears to Sneak Into Chiefs Game Despite Speculation She Didn't Attend
Swift, 35, and Kelce, 35, have embraced each other’s careers ever since they first started quietly dating in July 2023.
NFL fans were taken by surprise when the “Shake It Off” hitmaker attended one of his Kansas City Chiefs home games in September 2023, and Swift went on to become a regular fixture in the stands as she cheered him on throughout the season.
Kelce also showed his support to Swift when he traveled around the world to watch her perform, with his first visit taking place in Argentina in November 2023.
More recently, the pop star announced the release date of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, on his “New Heights” podcast, also unveiling the cover art for her new project on the August 13 episode.

That same month, the power couple took a big step in their relationship, going public with their engagement. “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” Swift captioned an Instagram post on August 26, alongside photos of the Chiefs tight end down on one knee.
Jewelry expert Nilesh Rakholia told Us Weekly that Swift’s ring could be worth $950,000 to $1,270,000. The Abelini founder added, “The stone itself looks to be easily in the 7–10 carat range, which immediately places it among the most iconic celebrity engagement rings.”
Another jeweler Laura Taylor, who specializes in engagement and wedding rings, told Us that the ring might be up to 12 carats. Taylor speculated that it was “easily worth” $1 million.
