Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie Star in the Explosive Trailer for "All the Light We Cannot See"
Netflix's "All the Light We Cannot See," based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning novel by Anthony Doerr, is heading to the streamer this fall. On April 18, Netflix released the teaser trailer and first-look images for the new miniseries as they announced the November release date. The series stars newcomer Aria Mia Loberti as Marie-Laure LeBlan, a blind girl living in Paris with her father Daniel, played by Mark Ruffalo. During WWII, the pair must flee Paris with a valuable diamond they don't want to fall into Nazi hands. They land at the house of Marie-Laure's great uncle Etienne (played by Hugh Laurie) in Saint-Malo, where they try to evade the Nazis. At the same time, Marie-Laure's story starts to intersect with that of Werner, a German teen who's ordered to use his radio skills to find illegal broadcasts so the Nazis can stop them. Marie-Laure and Werner's stories come to an explosive end with tragic consequences for both. Doerr's novel was published in 2014 and became a critical and commercial success. It was on The New York Times bestseller list for 200 weeks and won the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 2015. Filming of the miniseries took place in 2022 in Budapest and France, including the real Saint-Malo.
