Sounds Like Nick Cannon Isn't Over Mariah Carey in His New Song "Alone"

Though they divorced eight years ago, Nick Cannon clearly wants Mariah Carey back. On Valentine's Day, Cannon released a new song, "Alone," that's undoubtedly an ode to his ex-wife. "This is the gospel of my broken soul - this is as raw as it gets," Cannon said about the song's meaning in a press release. The track, which samples Carey's 1990 No. 1 hit "Love Takes Time," is set to appear on his upcoming mixtape "Raw N B: The Explicit Tape." In the nearly four-minute track, the "Masked Singer" host acknowledges the fact that he's welcomed four children by three women in less than a year. Last month, Cannon announced he was expecting his eighth child, his first with model Bre Tiesi. "As much as I want you back / It's probably better where you at / 'Cause I'm still running the streets / I'm still all in the sheets having babies," he sings. "Models and singers and actresses saying they pregnant by me / Have to pay $10,000 a week / I take care of my peeps / Now you don't worry about when I creep / You got a man next to you when you sleep." Cannon and Carey first met at the Teen Choice Awards in 2005, but they didn't start dating until 2008. In April of that year, after just weeks of seeing each other, they surprised fans when they announced they'd tied the knot in the Bahamas. Three years later, they welcomed twins Monroe and Moroccan, aka "Dem Babies." The pair went their separate ways in 2014 when Carey filed for divorce, which was finalized in 2016. Still, it seems that Cannon has nothing but love and respect for the five-time Grammy winner. "That's my homegirl. Always will be," he told Us Weekly in 2018. "Whatever she does, that's Mariah Carey. She can do no wrong in my book." Listen to Cannon's new song "Alone" above!
