Teen Mom’s Jenelle Evans’ Son Jace, 16, Moves Out After Grounding

Jenelle Evans’ eldest son, Jace, has reportedly moved out of their home in Las Vegas following a disagreement.

The 16-year-old is allegedly now living in North Carolina with a relative after Evans, 33, grounded him for his recent actions regarding CPS, according to TMZ. (A source confirms to Us Weekly that TMZ’s report is true.)

The outlet reported on Thursday, August 21, that the move came after Jace threatened to call Child Protective Services (CPS) on Evans when she allegedly left him to watch her two other children while she was out.

The insider, however, tells Us that CPS never came by the house and Jace was not babysitting while Evans was out. Evans had a babysitter that she gets from care.com that the kids love, per the source.

Teen Mom 2's Jenelle Evans' Ups and Downs With Son Jace

Evans shares Jace with ex Andrew Lewis, son Kaiser, 11, with ex Nathan Griffith and daughter Ensley, 8, with ex-husband David Eason.

Jace did not follow through on his threats, or file a report against the Teen Mom 2 star, per TMZ. However, the publication reports that Evans grounded her son following the incident, which added to recent tensions between the pair.

The issues between Evans and her eldest child allegedly stem from Jace being on probation for committing an unknown crime. (His case is sealed because he’s a minor.)

While Evans and Jace have seemingly been butting heads as of late, the reality star “allowed” her teenage son to relocate to North Carolina to do what’s “best” for him, according to TMZ.

Us Weekly has reached out to Evans’ rep for comment.

Jace’s reported move comes two months after Evans told Us in June that Jace was “back at home with me” in Las Vegas following a stint living with his biological father in Florida.

While the mother-son duo were cohabitating this summer, Jace raised eyebrows earlier this month about his dynamic with Evans after posting screenshots from their private text exchanges via social media.

The texts were shared in three Instagram grid posts and detailed an alleged altercation between Jace and his ex-stepdad Eason, 37, as well as custody over the teen. (In September 2023, Jace accused Eason of assaulting him. TMZ reported at the time that Eason received a misdemeanor charge of child abuse following the allegations.)

“I am finally putting out how much mother really is,” Jace captioned the first post in August, leaving the second one blank. The third Instagram caption read, “I need to go back to NC she is just rlly [sic] unstable.”

Evans responded to the text leak by telling her followers on Wednesday, August 20, that she “disciplined” Jace over the incident.

“While it hurts to see those moments shared publicly, I know it comes from a place of struggle,” she wrote via her Instagram Story. “Navigating Jace’s different medical diagnoses has not been easy, but I have never stopped fighting to make sure he has the resources, love and support he needs.”

Evans further claimed that Jace recently had a run-in with law enforcement that made their home life more strenuous.

“Recently he’s also been in trouble with the law these past few months and is having a hard time adjusting to the rules set before him,” Evans continued. “I’ve been trying everything to help him navigate it but we are butting heads in the process. Please give us grace at this time. This is hard on all of us.”
