Nicole Kidman Shares How She Spent 1st Thanksgiving After Keith Urban Split
Nicole Kidman revealed how she celebrated her first Thanksgiving since filing for divorce from estranged husband Keith Urban.
“So thankful xx,” the actress, 58, wrote via her Instagram Story on Friday, November 28, alongside a snap of her and a group at what appeared to be a “Turkey Trot” race.
In the shared photo, Kidman was joined by her and Urban’s daughters, Sunday, 17, and Faith, 14. (Kidman is also mother to daughter Bella, 32, and son Connor, 30, whom she shares with ex-husband Tom Cruise.)
The actress’ sister Antonia Kidman and brother-in-law Craig Marran were also in the photo alongside the couple’s kids. Nicole and her squad donned athletic gear and matching turkey-themed T-shirts from the event that read, “Boulevard Bolt 2025.”
Nicole Kidman Spotted for 1st Time Since Keith Urban Split
Earlier this year, Us Weekly confirmed that Nicole and Urban split after nearly two decades of marriage. The Practical Magic star filed for divorce in September, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their breakup. According to docs obtained by Us at the time, Nicole submitted a potential parenting plan, child support plan and “parenting seminar order.”
The parenting plan included a request from Nicole to be named the “primary residential parent” of Sunday and Faith. It also proposed that the twosome’s daughters spend 306 days out of the year with their mother and 59 days with their father, which would include every other weekend.
After news broke of their split, Nicole talked about going through a series of life changes.
“There’s something to knowing that no matter how painful, or how difficult, or how devastating something is, there is a way through,” she said in an October interview with Harper’s Bazaar. “You’re going to have to feel it. You’re not going to be able to numb it. You are going to have to feel it, and it’s going to feel insurmountable at times. You’re going to feel like you’re broken, but if you move gently and slowly — and it can take an enormous amount of time — it does pass.”

Nicole added that the “best part” of navigating tough life circumstances was the knowledge that you gain from it.
“So you go, ‘Oh, I’ve been here before. I actually know how to handle this now,’” she explained. “Or, ‘Maybe I haven’t been in this place, but I’ve experienced something similar to this, and I do know that I will get through it.’”
In October, a source exclusively told Us that the split was a “long time coming.”
“Keith has moved on and has been open with Nicole about where he stands,” the insider explained. “The two had grown apart quietly over time, and by the end, the decision to separate was more about acceptance than surprise.”
Earlier this month, the Oscar winner gave an update on how she was coping amid her ongoing divorce in a chat with Ariana Grande for Interview magazine.
What Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban's Lives Look Like After Divorce
“I’m hanging in there,” Nicole responded when Grande, 32, asked how she was doing.
Later in the interview, Nicole shared that working on Practical Magic 2 alongside costars Sandra Bullock, Maisie Williams and Joey King in London over the summer was a very positive experience for her and gushed about her bond with the women.
“I have such a strong relationship with all those women, so I felt protected and loved,” she explained. “It was just very, very safe.”
