Gigi Lopez Thomason Makes Jewelry for People Who Want Something of Their Own
Her design career has grown alongside her work in business management. Gigi says she had little family support when she started creating and had to find her own way forward. The experience taught her patience, a quality she considers as important to making a piece as the initial idea.

LOS ANGELES, September 25, 2026 — A pearl, a dried flower, a leaf: in designer Geressa “Gigi” Lopez Thomason’s hands, natural materials become the starting point for one of a kind fashion jewelry. She is drawn to pieces that feel personal to the wearer, with elegance in the details rather than a need to look like everything else in a display case.
Gigi began drawing when she was seven. By high school, she was experimenting with clothes, taking apart her mother’s dresses to create designs of her own. She taught herself through that process and has since explored dresses, leather bags and interior design. Today, jewelry holds her attention.
She pays particular attention to balance and finish. Pearls, dried flowers and leaves give her materials with distinct shapes and textures, while her aim remains consistent: a piece should be durable, elegant and satisfying to wear.
Gigi hopes to share more of her creations in the year ahead. Asked what she would like people to remember about her work, her answer is brief and fitting: “One of a kind.”
