Inside Rob, Michele Reiner's Final Days Before Son's Arrest for Their Deaths
Rob and Michele Singer Reiner made numerous public appearances — and plans with several celebrity friends — in the days leading up to their murders.
Us Weekly confirmed on Monday, December 15 that Rob, 78, and Michele, 68, died from “apparent stab wounds,” according to the Los Angeles police. Their shocking deaths came as a shock to Hollywood — and the world at large — after they were previously seen in attendance at Conan O’Brien‘s Christmas party.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner,” read a statement from their loved ones. “We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time.”
The details surrounding Rob and Michele’s deaths only got more harrowing after their son Nick Reiner was arrested in connection to the crime. He was booked on suspicion of murder charges and held without bail after an argument broke out between him and his parents at O’Brien’s party hours before Rob and Michele were killed in their home in Brentwood.

Rob and Michele Reiner Attended Conan O’Brien’s Christmas Party Hours Before Death
Rob and Michele were in attendance at O’Brien’s gathering at his home in Los Angeles on December 14. A source confirmed to Us that they were seen in a public argument with Nick after he acted “creepily” at the celebration and asked people “if they were famous” before leaving.
It was also reported that Rob and Nick got into a “very loud argument” at the gathering, which other attendees overheard. Nick, who has been outspoken about his past struggles with drug addiction, left the Brentwood neighborhood and checked into The Pierside Santa Monica hotel early Sunday. He was subsequently found in an area near the University of Southern California in University Park, Los Angeles. Authorities were allegedly able to “quickly” find Nick near the campus and arrested him for murder on Sunday night, approximately six hours after his parents were found dead.
On December 16, NBC News reported that Nick allegedly interrupted a conversation involving comedian Bill Hader at O’Brien’s weekend holiday party. When Hader, 47, said the conversation was private, Nick appeared to stand still and stare before “storming off,” NBC News reported.
