‘It Ends With Us’ Producer Details Birth Video Blake Lively Took Issue With

It Ends With Us producer Jamey Heath spoke out about the birthing video mentioned by Blake Lively in her sexual harassment lawsuit, claiming the actress only saw “half a second” of it, Us Weekly can exclusively report.

On Thursday, December 4, Lively, 38, filed court docs that included a portion of the transcript for Heath’s deposition, which happened on October 8.

Heath testified that he has known It Ends With Us director and costar Justin Baldoni for 20 years, and they are business partners. (Lively sued Baldoni, Heath and others over alleged sexual harassment and retaliation. All of the defendants have denied all allegations of wrongdoing.)

Heath was questioned about Lively’s claims about what happened on the set of the 2024 film, which was based on the Colleen Hoover novel of the same name.

During his deposition, Heath admitted he showed Lively a video of his wife giving birth. In her suit, the Gossip Girl alum took issue with being shown the footage unexpectedly while filming a birthing scene.

Breaking Down Blake Lively’s Accusations Against Justin Baldoni

“When the birth scene was filmed, the set was chaotic, crowded and utterly lacking in standard industry protections for filming nude scenes,” Lively alleged. She claimed Heath came up to her and her assistant and started “playing a video of a fully nude woman with her legs spread apart.”

Lively said she stopped him because she thought it was pornography. She said she was “alarmed” and “asked [Heath] if his wife knew he was sharing the video.”

In her lawsuit, the actress said Heath “replied, ‘She isn’t weird about this stuff,’ as if [Lively] was weird for not welcoming it.” Lively said she excused herself because she was “stunned” by Heath’s video.

In his deposition, Heath said the video features “our midwife, my sister, my kids, my wife, myself, our newborn baby.”

He noted, “I believe we were singing and praying. The baby was crying and then at some point we were whispering a prayer in the baby’s ear.”

Heath said the video showed his wife in the tub.

Lively’s lawyer asked, “And you said she wasn’t clothed, but she had a towel over her?”

Heath replied, “The towel was more over the baby, I think, because, you know, when the baby came out of the way and you bring it up, then it’s wet. So, you put a dry towel to cover it.”

Heath said he was in the video but was wearing clothes. He further claimed that Baldoni asked him to show Lively the “beautiful video.”

Justin Baldoni Accuses Blake Lively of Improvising Kiss in 'It Ends With Us'

According to Heath, he didn’t think twice about showing the actress the clip and walked over to Lively.

When asked what part of the footage he showed Lively, Heath explained, “Well, the first portion of the video — which, again, she had only seen maybe a half a second of it — is only my wife sitting here, the baby on top. And that’s what she would have seen.”

In the since-dismissed countersuit filed by Baldoni and Heath against Lively, their lawyer wrote about Lively’s claims, “Lively continued with an outrageous and knowingly false suggestion that she was shown pornography or naked images of Heath’s wife on set.”

Blake Lively Versus Justin Baldoni's Version of 'It Ends With Us'

“This video, which ultimately was not shown to Lively (even though she stated she’d like to see it later, as she was eating) is by all accounts beautiful. Since Lively wanted to see it later, what she saw was the first image at the start of the video, which shows Heath’s wife, himself and their baby after his wife gave birth at home,” the suit continued. “To characterize this image that captures such a beautiful moment with their newborn baby, shared with the consent of his wife for purposes of the Film, as a naked photo, or worse, ‘porn’ is deplorable.”

The parties are headed to trial in March.
